Boettcher Mansion - Historic Event Facility
The Boettcher Mansion was built in 1917 as the summer home and hunting lodge of Charles Boettcher, one of Colorado's most enterprising entrepreneurs. Donated to Jefferson County by Boettcher's granddaughter, Charline Breeden, the Mansion was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and reopened as a special events site in the mid-1970s. Built in the Arts & Crafts style, it offers a magnificent setting on 110 acres of pine forest at 7500 feet, with views of the Continental Divide and Denver. The interior features a collection of Craftsman-style furniture and other appointments appropriate to its construction date, plus an exhibit of historic news clippings and photos pertaining to the Boettcher family, Lockout Mountain, and Golden.

The Boettcher Mansion is located just minutes from Interstate 70 (follow the brown signs off Exit 256 to 900 Colorow Road on top of Lockout Mountain).
